About Isabella

Isabella is a board certified clinical psychologist, who completed her Honours and Masters at The University of Melbourne and Monash University. Isabella is a member of the Australian Psychological Society (MAPS), the APS College of Clinical Psychologists and the Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing Association of Australia (EMDRAA); as an accredited practitioner.

Isabella is a warm and friendly psychologist who strives to create a non-judgemental, safe and supportive environment for her clients. She believes in creating a therapeutic relationship based on trust, and working collaboratively to help her clients gain new perspectives, develop new skills and improve their quality of life.
Isabella believes strongly that the relationship between client and psychologist is a key part of therapy success. She believes it is important for individuals to feel heard, supported and accepted, in the context of their culture, values and goals. Accordingly, individuals are then better able to create rich and meaningful lives worth living.

Experience and Interests
Isabella has treated clients and has experience in the assessment and treatment of many mental health issues, including; anxiety, depression, trauma, personality disorders, and more.
In addition to this, she has a strong interest in helping individuals with Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) and relationship difficulties, particularly individuals who find themselves in relationships with persons with Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD), associated complex trauma and PTSD.
She is intensively trained in Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), a gold standard treatment for BPD; Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR), a gold standard therapy for PTSD; and Gottman’s Relationship Method, a gold standard treatment for relationship psychology. In addition, Isabella draws, where appropriate, from an eclectic mix of other evidence based therapies, such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Attachment Based Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Compassion Based Therapy and Internal Family Systems (IFS).
Isabella works with a wide variety of clients, including individuals and couples, from various backgrounds and across different ages (adolescents onward). She has certifications in Relationships Australia’s Specialist Course in Couples Therapy; Gottman Method Couples Therapy Level 1; Gottman Method Couples Therapy Level 2; EMDR Training Program; and DBT Intensive Plus (in progress).
